Exam & Diagnosis
What are we treating and how do we know?
Orthopedic tests used to provoke or recreate your pain guide the working diagnosis. This gives us a better idea of what is causing your pain or dysfunction.
We also take a complete history of your health, lifestyle, and current complaint during your first visit.
Soft Tissue Treatments
The Adjustment
We perform joint manipulation in the spine and extremities to promote increased range of motion and decrease pain. Recently, research has suggested that chiropractic adjustments have a positive effect on sensory motor integration, meaning it helps improve your ability to sense your body's position, plan and carry out movement, and respond to your environment appropriately.
Types of Adjustment Techniques Used:
Manual Diversified Adjustment (normal hands on)
Drop Table Adjustment (uses part of the table to adjust)
Instrument Assisted Adjustment (commonly called an "Activator" tool)
It is important to note that the adjustment is just a PART of your comprehensive treatment plan and not the only treatment we administer. Wellness includes exercise and movement as a non-negotiable part of life.
